Energy solutions that are sustainable, cost effective and meet user needs are gaining traction all over the world. Hon. David K. T. Mureeba PE, Chief Executive Officer and Susan Skorburg, Chief of Programs discussed a geo-thermal project launched in Manchester, Missouri with officials from Trane Inc. and Parkway School District. First, one hundred twenty wells were drilled 500 feet into the earth. Water is piped through the $2.4 million closed well system to create a “ground-source heat pump.” Temperature underground is about 56º. Less energy is required to raise or lower the temperature of water pumped into the school saving energy and reducing expenses.

Producer Exchange No. 84 is a Farming Co-Op that buys crops, including corn and soybeans, from local farmers. Susan Skorburg Chief of Programs EAP&E met with staff and toured their grain storage, milling and retail operation that has been located in Lincoln Missouri for over 100 years. The operation includes 4 grain bins that hold 100,000 bushels of grain each. Farmers buy bagged grain from the Co-op to feed livestock.

Jay Wileman,President and CEO of GE Energy Sub-Saharan Africa discussed renewable energy projects with David K.T. Mureeba Chief Executive Officer EAP&E and Susan Skorburg, Data Analyst EAP&E at the 2009 U.S. - Africa Business Summit in Washington, D.C. Meetings with government officials from Uganda were also held during the 2 day conference.

Susan Skorburg Chief of Programs toured Table Rock Lake and Dam. Damming White River met several goals: flood control, hydro-electricity generation, fish husbandry, economic development through water sport and tourism expansion. Thera are 4 power generating units, each generating 50 megawatts each for a total of 200 megawatts.
